This past Saturday, I woke up, turned on my iPhone and saw this:
Which made me so excited that I remembered how to take a screenshot in the dark at 6:04 AM. Snow! At last! My love had returned to me!
As you can see, I really love snow. And I love my headwrap, which I knit. I'll have more on that soon.
I took this photo on the way to school, where the few, the proud, the desperate, came in for some help getting ready for the Regents, which they took today. I tried my best to help. Much as I love commanding the front of a classroom (it's the actor in me), I also really enjoy low-key, one-on-one tutoring. I love to watch ideas snap into place for my students.
By the time I started home, the snow had become a wintry mix and I exchanged text messages of complaint with Roo, who also had to be out in it. I stopped at the library and picked up a book I had on reserve, and started reading it as I walked home. Eventually, I realized that it was not walking and reading weather. So I just took this photo outside Prospect Park...
...and hurried into my warm, snug home. That's really what snow is about, isn't it? Something pretty to look at while you snuggle up indoors.
