One-act play (approximately 25 minutes). 2 women, aged 40 and up.
Welcome to Your Life is part-Orewellian future and part-Stepford Wives. The play has a twist half-way through, so not too much can be revealed. Suffice it to say that in an America of the near-future, two mothers, Ellen and Jan, prepare to send their sons off to the Army on "Enlistment Day." Jan is an old hand at this, but Ellen is struggling. The play combines the force of the conflict of their differing responses with a dry commentary about a global problem as a result of humanity’s warring ways.
A review of Theatre Three's production of the play is available on my main webpage.
