Full- length, Comedy/Drama. You those epic heroes and heroines who go off on dramatic quests full of bravado and courage? Cecily Winsome isn't one of those people. In fact, she's not very brave at all. It's the evening after the worst day of her life, the day she found out that her lifelong best friend, Matthew, would be marrying someone else. Despairing, she wonders if she'll ever be able to let him go. As she reluctantly journeys through the magical places in New York to find an answer, she's aided by Jacques (a fairy), Mrs. Lolita Kettlebaum (a librarian), and Nelson Ilgenfritz (a blue bookworm). Matthew and his fiancée, Rose, try to help as well. But in the end, it's the audience – plus a stern talking-to, not to mention a surprise twist… oh! And one big realization! – that help her arrive at a satisfactory resolution. This play is magical, heartbreaking and funny, with simple suggested sets, and roles for nine actors (3 women, 4 men, 2 either).
